Mission & Vision

The mission of the Coatesville Area Public Library is to serve the residents of its service area with a variety of library materials and services that provide for the educational, informational, cultural, and recreational needs of its residents.

We strive to serve our community

  • By maintaining a collection of library materials for the general use of the public in an atmosphere for study and recreational reading.
  • By serving as a reliable information center for the community.
  • By offering information technology resources beyond those of the library as a member of the Chester County Library System.
  • By functioning as a center for activities of interest to adults and children of the service area.

Making a direct contribution to Coatesville Area Public Library is a great way to strengthen services and programs we provide to the community. Donations to CAPL are tax deductible. An employee of a company running a United Way of Chester County (UWCC) campaign who wishes to designate their pledge to Coatesville Area Public Library should write the name and full address of your organization, plus the amount to be designated, in the space provided at the bottom of their pledge form.
